Welcome to Year 6
Our Year 6 Team
Teachers – Mrs Weatherby, Mrs Brussels and Mrs Baker
Teaching Assistant – Mrs Lowe

Year 6 is a very exciting and important year for our pupils, with lots of challenging opportunities and experiences to help them develop in preparation for secondary school. In Year 6, pupils build upon prior learning and develop further strategies to ensure that they are able to recall knowledge and demonstrate understanding ready for their Key Stage 2 SATs tests. Wider opportunities and roles and responsibilities across school also provide Year 6 pupils with opportunities to grow as respectful, reliable and mature members of our school and wider communities.

Homework
Listening to your child read and supporting them with completing homework is a key part of our home school partnership and is greatly appreciated. If you require any support or wish to speak to Year 6 staff, please contact the school office and a member of the team will get back to you promptly.
All our homework is set via Microsoft Teams and can be accessed and turned in through this platform. If you are struggling to log on please speak with the class teacher or the school office.
Things to Remember
- Pupils do not need to have a pencil case of their own in school.
- A book bag and packed lunch bag will suffice.
- Children need to bring their own water bottles and take them home each day
- Attendance at school is compulsory
PE
On Tuesdays your child has PE so they will need to come to school in their PE kit (No football kits, rugby kits)
PE kit is black or navy shorts with a white t shirt. A tracksuit or leggings can be worn over this.
Children can wear trainers on this day and keep pumps in their book bag for that day.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast club is open from 8.00am. School will begin at 8.45am for all children. Year 3,4,5 and 6 will enter through the Roper Street entrance
Collecting your child
Collecting children begins at 3.05. The school pick up is split into two pick up times. Please don’t arrive outside of these times.
Children with Surnames from A – L are collected at 3.05pm. There is a 10-minute window to collect the children. If you have more than one child, you must pick up your youngest child first.
At 3.15 the remaining children with Surnames M- Z will be collected. Again, youngest children to be picked up first.
