Junior Leadership Team
At Merton Bank Primary School, we believe in the importance of Pupil Voice.
The Junior Leadership Team role gives children the opportunity to express their views and make their opinions count. The team is an elected body of students who work with the Senior Leadership Team to improve the school.
The team at Merton Bank Primary School is normally made up of students from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Due to the current situation and to avoid mixing ‘bubbles’ our current Junior Leadership Team is made up of year 6 pupils. Children who were interested in the role put themselves forward for election by presenting a speech to the rest of the children in their class to let them know why they would be an ideal candidate. The rest of the children, in class, then voted for their preferred candidate. The votes were counted and then the new Junior Leadership Team was announced.
The team meet regularly with the Headteacher or the most relevant member of the Senior Leadership Team to discuss new initiatives and to give feedback from their peers on specific projects and topics.
